Lake Martha Lake Association

Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order at 7:15pm at the home of Bill & Jeanni Tregaskis – 7266 9th Street SE.

The minutes from the May 14, 2004, meeting were accepted as written.

Joy Duenwald presented the treasurer’s report, which stated that as of May 26, 2004, the checking and savings accounts had a total of $2,445.98.  Joy also reported that the number of paid households remain at 37.

The 4th of July boat parade will be at 2:00pm on Sunday.

The Annual Picnic date is set for August 21st.  The rental of a Biff – the same as past years - was discussed.  Bill Tregaskis proposed to have this year’s picnic catered.  The purchase of a keg was also suggested.  A complete budget will be proposed at the next meeting for approval.

A “great job” was stated in regards to the Lake Martha Directory.  Ideas for additional services that a group discount could be obtained was requested.

Mary Leffler said that all four Hospitality Committee members will present the “Welcome to the Neighborhood” baskets to the new residents.  The baskets will include a list of local churches & coupons from local businesses – Ace Hardware, Gathering Grounds Coffee, Massage Therapy, Julie Voigt haircuts, Wiggles & Giggles Daycare, Hansen Auto, Domino’s Pizza, Nortog Meats, Buffy Chiropractic, & Properties By Us (they are still waiting on Holiday Gas, Dick’s Foods & Jimmy’s Pizza).

Mike Rydberg will apply the copper sulfate on July 2nd – the algae weed treatment.  It will work if there is algae present.

Sue Brallier has taken three secchi disk readings at the buoy.  The readings were 13' the first reading, 8 ½' the first week of June, & 7 ½' this week.

It is planned that Brad Miller will haul away the cutterboats as scrap.

Mike Rydberg reported that pictures were taken during the feasibility survey.  Also that the petition passed & the correction of the road location is being looked into for the actual paving of Halsey.  The side streets that do not have an alternative outlet will also be assessed.

A weed survey of the lake was discussed along with the possibility of introducing native weeds.

The DNR apparently plotted three parking spots for boat launching.

Mosquito control is still being researched.  Most residents received a brochure in the mail that listed chemicals & devices for such.

Bruce Biederman motioned to adjourn the meeting at 8:00pm & Craig Kasa seconded.
