Lake Martha Lake Association Meeting Minutes August 8, 2009
The meeting took place at Paul & Polly Johnson’s house. It was called to order at 2:19 pm before the Picnic The there were 5 Households present. Paul talked about the Soil and Water conservation program that we have a grant for. The program takes Secci disk and a water sample that will be sent out to a lab for testing of algae and phosphorus levels. The basic idea of the program is to have a base line of the lake on record and in the event of a major change in the clarity of the water, this information will give us the opportunity for money if there are grants available. We had a grant for the last two years and Joe Jacobs from the soil and water district has been taking the samples until this month where Paul started taking them. If we would like to stay with this program we would have to pay around $250.00 per year starting next year. All of this information is on the following web site. http://rmbel.info/Reports/LakeDataSummary.aspx Paul stated that the last Secci disk reading was 11.5’ still very good Paul, Bruce and Brad emptied the can trailer and Paul hauled the cans in for a grand total of $120.00 Paul mentioned that the weed treatment with Midwest Aqua Care is an individual contract with Midwest Aqua care and individual complaints should be directed towards them, but if there is overall larger scale issues the association should handle the calls to MAC. No change in the treasures report Next meeting will be an Election meeting we are looking for a Vice President, secretary and treasurer. Discussion came up about moving the meeting back to a weeknight hopefully for better attendance, but there were not enough people for a Quorum. Meeting adjourned @ 2:45pm |
