Meeting Minutes 

Sat. Sept.12, 2009

· The meeting took place on the boats @ the buoy.

· Called to order at 3:09pm.

· There were 5 Households present.

· Paul read the minutes from the last meeting.

· Secci disk reading of 11’ 6”on Sept. 12^th.

· Theresa Witstine mentioned that Loretto Fun Fest was Sat. the 19th. And that Rockford clean up day was that day also.

· We received a grant in 2008 from Wright Co. Soil and Water Conservation for a 2 yr. program that involves water testing. Water samples are taken and the findings are recorded with the county. This was a proactive measure taken on by the county. The program will expire this year. If we would like to continue it will cost us $250.00 per yr. This information is necessary to show lake health history in order to be eligible to apply for an acreage weed permit or apply for grant money in the event the lake is infected with an invasive species. Paul is taking the water samples. They are taken at a 6 foot depth in the middle of the lake. They are then sent to a lab. The findings are then reported to Wright Co. Paul thinks it would be a good idea to go ahead for this next year so that we would have 3 consecutive years of information logged.

· Bill Tregaskis asked if we could sign up biannually or every three years. That way we would be able to maintain current information at a reduced cost. Paul seemed to think that was a possibility.

· Nominations were taken for Secretary & Vice President. Theresa Witstine is running unopposed for Secretary. Paul Volunteered to run for Vice President.

·The meetings for next year will be held on Thursdays at 7:00pm.

·Polly asked if anyone new of a way to set up an internet chat site for Lake Martha. The purpose would be that members could bring up information as it happens. That would then give us the opportunity to find some answers before the next meeting. Bill Tregaskis said that he has one set up for his family on Yahoo group and that it is free. He said that it is secure because you need a password to get into it. One person sets it up as the administrator and then allows permission for others to join.  Angela mentioned Blogger.com as an option. Polly will check into this and get back with more info. 

·Jim brought up that some lake association members had asked him why the Lake Assoc. pays for the food for the picnic. There was much discussion as to the why’s, when’s, and how this change came about. There was also discussion regarding the time of year to have it due to the decline in attendance. The decision was made to bring this up at a time when there is a quorum so this can be voted on.

         ·Meeting adjourned @ 3:58pm by Paul, Jim second the motion.
