Lake Martha Lake Association Meeting Minutes March 11, 2013 Jim called the meeting to order at 7:10. Minutes from the September meeting were approved. Treasurer’s report was given and approved. As 2/13/13 Checking is $652.85, Saving is $3164.20. Jim went over the information for the weed treatments for this season. Midwest Aquacare sent out the forms needed to apply for the DNR permit and request weed treatment. All association members wishing to participate, needed to complete the forms and deliver them to a lake association officer, with $10 permit fee and $50 association dues. Forms are due March 17th. Members need to check one or both treatments, then can opt out later if they feel the treatment is not necessary. Alternating years for weed treatment was discussed again as an option for a maintenance program, as the curly leaf seems under control. We discussed again the possibility of volunteering to pay for treatment of areas of the lake that never get treated. We feel we would need to get a permit for whole lake treatment. Jim will contact the new home owner living on the inlet, about first year free membership and participating in the weed treatment. Jim gave an update on the can program. We are not getting as many cans or as much per pound as when we had the trailer on the corner, but have eliminated the problems involved with the trailer like garbage being dumped in the trailer. Jim will send out a email when residents can drop off bagged cans at his pole shed at 7412 9th ST SE. The cans do not need to be crushed, and they will only accept cans, no miscellaneous aluminum. COLA dues and water testing fees were approved not to exceed $300. Dorothy will continue as hospitality chair. Julie Kasa is checking on the date for the Lake Charlotte Spring Social. Thank you Bill Tregaskis, for organizing the sand delivery, everyone requesting sand received it. Miller Trucking was happy with Bills work and thanked him will a load of sand. Bill donated the value of the load of sand to the Lake Association. Thank you again Bill. DNR put a load of sand by the public access for the boat landing. We have scheduled the lake association meetings on Tuesday this year. They are as follows: April 9th at Paul Johnson’s home May 14th at Julie and Craig Kasa’s home June 11th on boats at center of lake July 9th at Bill Tregaskis and Joyce Lyons August 10th Saturday Picnic at Jim and John’s, that’s Miller and Witstine September 10th The phosphorus filter across Co Rd 33 was put in last fall.
